Perfect Pitch Challenge refers to a viral TikTok filter trend that consists of the user helping a virtual ball through some obstacles based on the musical scale (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do) with their singing voice. The filter went viral in early September 2024, inspiring netizens and many celebrities to test their perfect pitch skills, which resulted in hilarious and sometimes fascinating viral videos on the video platform.
Origin
On September 19th, 2024, TikTok[1] user @gamingfilterpro shared his mini-game filter titled "Perfect Pitch Challenge," which allows users to control a virtual ball with their voice to guide it through some obstacles based on the musical scale (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do). The video showing how the filter works (seen below) amassed over 15 million views, 773,000 likes and more than 4 million other videos uploaded by users doing the perfect pitch challenge.

The Perfect Pitch Challenge grew more popular on TikTok over the course of a month, inspiring many singers and celebrities to join the trend. For instance, on September 20th, 2024, singer Charlie Puth[2] posted a video using the filter (seen below), which amassed over 186 million plays and 12 million likes in two weeks.
