PinkPantheress Turning Around, also known as Even She Was Weirded TF Out, refers to a reaction GIF of singer-songwriter PinkPantheress turning around and looking behind her. She then turns back around, looks to her right and appears "weirded out." The original GIF from the original video also shows singer Aliyah's Interlude looking shocked with her mouth wide open. The original video was posted by i-D Magazine on YouTube in late 2023. The GIF and meme was widely shared on Twitter / X in 2023 and 2024.

Origin

On November 2nd, 2023, the YouTube^[1] channel of i-D Magazine posted a video called "i-D Meets: PinkPantheress" in which they interview British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress. American singer-songwriter Aliyah's Interlude was also featured in the video. Over three months, it received roughly 495,900 views and 18,000 likes.

At the video's 6:34-minute mark (shown below), PinkPantheress hears a door bang. She quickly turns around and the camera switches to an equally shocked Aliyah's Interlude. Then PinkPantheress turns back around and looks to her right, appearing weirded out.

On November 2nd, 2023, Tenor^[2] user niyayona posted a GIF of the moment (shown below, left). The first known meme to use the GIF was posted by X^[3] user @lmp3rfect on November 3rd, 2023, captioning it, "Me when I get high and hallucinate something in my peripheral," gaining over 39,000 likes in three months (shown below, right).

Spread

Similar posts and memes spread elsewhere, like on TikTok. For instance, on November 2nd, 2023, TikToker^[6] @szapoop posted the video with a text caption reading, "When the teacher interrupts my conversation with 'I'll wait,'" gaining over 26,100 plays and 4,100 likes in three months (shown below).

Viral usage of the GIF persisted in November 2023. For instance, on November 27th, 2023, X^[4] user @kisslyte captioned the GIF, "student submitted a 100% plagiarized essay worth 75% of their grade DAYUMMMMMM," receiving over 120,000 likes in three months (shown below, left).

On November 28th, 2023, X^[5] user @RlCKYRAGE tweeted a new version of the GIF that removed Aliyah's Interlude, showing only PinkPantheress looking back and then turning back around. @RlCKYRAGE captioned the GIF, "me high listening to 3D audios," gaining over 4,400 likes in three months (shown below, right).

Even She Was Weirded TF Out

The original "Even She Was Weirded TF Out" meme featured singer-songwriter Ethel Cain on an Instagram LIVE.^[7] It's currently unknown who made the original Instagram Reel that the GIF is sourced from. However, the earliest known upload of the GIF was shared by Tenor^[8] user kettlefaced on September 27th, 2022 (shown below, left).

On November 4th, 2023, Tenor^[9] user ortegasvamp posted the GIF of PinkPantheress turning around with the Instagram Reels text reading, "Even She Was Wierded TF Out" (shown below, right).

Usage of the PinkPantheress "Even She Was Wierded TF Out" GIF spread on social media going into early 2024. For instance, on January 29th, 2024, X^[10] user @hugeasmammoth_ captioned the GIF, "y’all remember when they had to design a hotel room on drag race??? 😭," gaining over 2,900 likes in a month (shown below).
