About
Playground Spin is a viral video originally posted to Twitter in July 2019 of an adult endlessly spinning like a gymnast on a playground bar. On the same day the video was posted, Twitter users began captioning the video and reposting it to various platforms.
Origin
On July 21st, 2019, Twitter user @badassvaeh posted a video of themself flipping over on a playground bar and commented that "everybody thinks I’m crazy when I do this" (shown below). The tweet gained over 10,700 likes and 2,200 retweets in nine days.

Spread
On July 25th, 2019 a few days after @badassvaeh[1] posted the original video, @lifeofahurdler commented, "if i went to a playground and saw this i’m damn near gone leave" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 400 likes in four days. The next day @kateispizza[2] commented on the camera person's laugh and received over 90 likes in four days (shown below, right).
That same day, Twitter users began reposting the video and adding captions about rotisserie chicken and hot dogs. Twitter user @MamoudouNDiaye captioned it with a nobody hotdog comment (shown below). The tweet gained over 3,100 likes and 450 retweets in four days.
