Pop a Chocky Milk / Chocky Milk Make Pain Go Away refers to a trend on TikTok in which the user states a reason that they're sad through text-to-speech then makes a glass of instant chocolate milk, often using too much powder, to "take away the pain."

Origin

On January 14th, 2021, TikToker day13n posted a video to TikTok[1] with the on-screen caption "Im tired of thinking about her," read of text-to-speech, in which he takes a Flintstone gummy vitamin and pops it, saying "pop a flinny" and "flinny make the pain go away" as he lies in bed, sad (shown below).

The video gained over 324,000 views in 2 weeks, and began a trend where other users would take Flintstones vitamins or other harmless substances set to the same sound and using the same variation of the "Pop a Chocky Milk / Make the Pain Go Away" phrasing (example shown below, left).[2] On January 20th, @jasper…k uploaded a video to TikTok[3] following the trend popping a "chocky milk," garnering over 5.2 million views in 9 days (shown below, right).

@jasper…k's video helped spread the trend, resulting in more variants, particularly focused on chocolate milk. On January 24th, @chockymilkstopspain, an account dedicated to the meme, posted their first video to TikTok[4] following the trend, garnering over 2.9 million views in 5 days (shown below, left). Their second video[5] gained over 5.3 million views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On January 26th, @jxys._.toxic posted a video to TikTok[6] following the trend referencing Rocket League, garnering over 4 million views in 3 days (shown below, left). It was reposted to @foodies TikTok[7] where it gained over 14 million views. On January 27th, @mrpapetti, a teacher, posted a TikTok[8] following the trend, garnering over 8.6 million views in 2 days (shown below, right).
