On June 16th, 2026, TikToker^[1] @borderbandittx posted a comedy video that points out a perceived common trope in Netflix documentaries. The trope is that when an interview with a major player in the subject of the interview is about to play, the interviewee is shown casually walking up to the chair and preparing themselves for the interview, adding suspense and highlighting their importance. The video gained over 3.8 million views in a month.

On June 30th, TikToker^[2] @wassupa1ex posted a similar video expanding on this concept. In the video, he sits in a chair and prepares for the interview under the caption, "It's my dream to be introduced in the last episode of a Netflix doc," garnering over 11.5 million views in two weeks.
