About

Projectile Dysfunction is an animated short made by artist and animator Mike Inel which inspired remixes and parodies on YouTube either reusing the initial style, editing the audio or involving MMD and SFM engines.

Origin

Inel released the short on January 11th, 2016 to YouTube (shown below). It features a man sitting at a park bench typing on his computer while a woman wearing a short skirt is passing by, seemingly dropping something on the ground. She bends over with her back turned to the man. He looks up, then his computer is seen flying through the air as the woman looks back to the flustered man, hiding an implied erection.



The video accumulated over 5 million views in the course of 5 years. The description reads that the title "Projectile Dysfunction" was suggested by one of Inel's fans named BecauseImBored1.

Spread

The day after the video's original release, January 12th, 2016, YouTube user Gohario FTW parodied the scene using models from Miku Miku Dance (shown below).



On YouTube, many parodies and remixes were released through out the years; one of the most viewed, "Projectile Dysfunction but the Bass gets Boosted when the Computer takes lift-off", by decko, released on May 12th, 2017 and gained a little less than 9 million views over 4 years (shown below):
