About

Punisher's "No, No, No, Wait, Wait, Wait" refers to a dream sequence scene from the American television series The Punisher in which protagonist Frank Castle tries to plead with armed men not to kill his family. In June 2021, the clip of Castle protesting and screaming out gained popularity as a reaction video.

Origin

On November 17th, 2017, episode "The Judas Goat" of The Punisher television series premiered.[1] In the episode, protagonist Frank Castle / Punisher, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, has a nightmare about the death of his family. In the dream, armed people walk into the dining room as Castle and his family are about to have dinner, with only Castle being able to see them. Castle tries to protest and plead, screaming "no" and "wait" repeatedly before the men massacre his family, which wakes him up from the nightmare.

On March 10th, 2021, iFunny[2] user AppalachianCaveman a meme based on the clip of Castle pleading with the men, captioning it "mfw it's Penis Inspection Day and the option for "Grower, Not a Shower" has been removed." The post (shown below) was featured on the app and received over 36,400 smiles in three months.

On March 11th, 2021, iFunny[3] user thememewaves posted another video caption based on the clip, a Harambe meme that gained over 42,900 smiles in three months (shown below, left). An April 15th repost by iFunny[4] user Amogus_Cuck gained over 44,000 smiles in two monhts.
