Ram Ranch is a song by surreal erotic artist Grant MacDonald which features over-the-top sexual lyrics with little rhythmic relationship to the accompanying beat. The song became popular online in the Twitch as a way to troll Bait and Switch video.

Origin

On August 30th, 2012, Grant MacDonald^[1] released "Ram Ranch" (video shown below).

The song is notable for its opening lyrics, which reads:^[3]

Eighteen naked cowboys in the showers at Ram Ranch.

The song did not become well known online until several years later when it was picked up by fans of Twitch streamer Ice Poseidon. On July 27th, 2016, a thread in the /r/IcePoseidon subreddit mentioned the song.^[2] According to user SharkKarambwan, fans of the streamer would request the track when he opened up song requests on his channel. Four months later, streamer Asian Andy uploaded a video of himself playing the song at Blizzcon, gaining over 142,000 views (shown below, left). On December 10th, 2017, streamer UKOGMonkey uploaded a clip of himself playing the track in Guitar Hero without knowing what the song was beforehand, gaining over 147,000 views (shown below, right).

Additionally, the song has been used in various YouTube Poop videos. On July 6th, 2017, YouTuber Danny889 uploaded a parody with a Hidden Valley Ranch commercial, gaining over 30,000 views (shown below, left). A Peter Hurts HIs Knee parody posted by AidenLoewenVideo on March 16th, 2018 gained over 3,500 views (shown below, right).

Other Versions

The popularity of Ram Ranch didn't remain unnoticed to Grant MacDonald, who starting in 2017 began releasing multiple other Ram Ranch videos. Most of these videos were given random numbers unrelated to the version but kept the over-the-top sexual lyrics. Out of these, the most popular videos are Ram Ranch uploaded on April 22nd, 2017, a reupload of the original Ram Ranch song with a different image (shown below left); and Ram Ranch 7 uploaded on June 5th, 2018, a version about US Marines keeping Ram Ranch under siege (shown below, right; lyrics below video). As of February 2019, these videos managed to gather respectively over 9.4 and 1.0 million views.

Ram Ranch 7, like its predecessor, equally got best known for its opening lyrics:^[4]
