About
Rip Me Out The Plastic is a social media trend where people use a line from rapper Latto's song "Put It On Da Floor" to conduct their transition and "reveal" videos. Participants in the trend place a plastic bag over their heads or in front of the scene meant to be revealed, and rip it open as the lyrics "rip me out the plastic I been acting brand new" plays. The trend began on Instagram when a high schooler going to Prom devised the idea as a way to reveal their outfit and makeup in May 2023.
