Sexual Attraction to Inanimate Objects During Quarantine refers to a series of captioned image macros featuring various objects, such as household items and food products, and jokes about people willing to have sex with them. This series arose during the self-isolation period of the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020 and usually includes the phrases "risk it all" and "acting up" to express sexual desire.

Origin

The origin of this meme is unknown. However, on March 19th, 2020, Twitter user @flxwer_boyy posted a GIF of a plastic tube and the caption "Day 5 of COVID-19 quarantine and I might just risk it all" (shown below). This is the earliest known example.

Spread

Later that day, Twitter^[1] user @sadboimikey posted a photograph of two lights hanging from a ceiling so that they resemble breasts. They wrote, "day 8 of quarantine: the ceiling is gonna make me act up." The post received more than 686,000 likes and 105,000 retweets in less than one week (shown below, left).

Throughout the day, others shared variations of the format. For example, Twitter^[2] user @ninaillestgirl shared a version featuring a scoop of peanut butter on a knife that resembles a penis. They wrote, "day 4 of quarantine and i’m about to risk it all ladies."

Within days, the format spread to Reddit. On March 23rd, Redditor^[3] daphillymann posted an image edited picture of Anthony Adams Rubbing Hands next to a photograph of the arm of a couch. They captioned the post, "'Quarantine Pffft, I can hand that no problem.'" The post received more than 32,000 points (96% upvoted) and 200 comments in less than two days (shown below, right).
