About

Women's Romance vs. Men's Romance refers to a redraw trend that was popularized on X / Twitter in February 2025. The meme is inspired by a webcomic originally posted by Twitter / X user @GameOverStation, with internet users joking about the differences (or lack thereof) between men's and women's romance fiction.

Origin

The Women's vs. Men's Romance webcomic was posted by fantasy writer and webcomic artist Shami Stovall on her X[1][2] account @GameOverStation on January 17th and again on February 6th, 2025. The second post gathered over 12,000 likes in five days.

The comic portrays Women's Romance as a woman being consensually choked by someone who says, "I'm going to kill you," and Men's Romance as a man saying, "I'm going to love you and take care of you all," while surrounded by a harem of human and furry women.
