Shocked Face Dokibird refers to a reaction of independent VTuber Dokibird (formerly known as Selen Tatsuki on NIJISANJI EN) after she accidentally witnessed a moment in which someone got rejected romantically on her livestream. The stream grew popular in early August 2024, and the clip inspired artists on Twitter / X to redraw it.

Origin

On August 8th, 2024, Dokibird^[1] started a livestream titled "【PC STRESS TEST】i ended up with 2 different sets of faulty ram【Dokibird】". Roughly 35 minutes into the stream, while playing Apex Legends, she accidentally heard two players in voice chat, then claimed she was their "third wheel." Two minutes later, she was shocked again after the male player asked female player, "Are you still with Peter?", to which the female player answered, "Yeah. He's next to me playing World of Warcraft" and then laughed (clip shown below).

Spread

Starting in August 2024, the clip grew popular among artists, as they drew fan art of Dokibird being shocked. For example on August 9th, 2024, Twitter / X^[2] user @Chalek0 uploaded fan art of Dokibird and received more than 4,700 reposts and 39,800 likes in four days (shown below, left). On August 11th, 2024, Twitter / X^[3] user @MayRayTV uploaded a fan art that received more than 1,900 reposts and 23,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).

On August 10th, 2024, Twitter / X^[4] user @DPC_ART uploaded GIF fan art of shocked Dokibird. The post received over 1,900 reposts and 15,300 likes in three days (shown below, left). The same day, Twitter / X^[5] user @agito666 uploaded an edit of Dokibird being shocked, gaining over 1,000 reposts and 16,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).
