About
Portal Do Zacarias is a personal blog created by Brazilian journalist Antônio Zacarias in 2011, known for publishing extremely graphic content, such as murders, fights and other violent crimes that occurred in Brazil and other regions of the globe. The website's content is similar to the late Live Leak website.
History
Portal do Zacarias[1] was launched in 2011 by the Brazilian journalist Antônio Zacarias.[2] The website started to get more recognition online after posting clickbait videos on social media, promoting gore and graphic content. For example, on October 2nd, 2023, YouTuber[3] @samyrzinho_ posted a video (shown below, left) explaining the story behind the gore website and some of the content available on it, amassing over 275,000 views and 22,000 likes in a month.
On October 25th, YouTuber[4] @Leepi uploaded a video (shown below, right) talking about one of the worst content available on Portal do Zacarias, the "MANGUE 937" case, which is a gore video showing images of the execution of three women in a mangrove in Fortaleza, Brazil. The post amassed over 360,000 views and 6,300 likes in a month.

Portal do Zacarias features a variety of ways to view content, like articles and, more specifically, gore and graphic content in the format of images and videos.
Online Presence
Online, the gore content shared on the website is often used for clickbait posts and memes from users after they have seen some of the graphic content hosted on the site. For example, on October 28th, 2023, TikTok[5] user @devinho.apns posted a "top 4 goriest videos" on Portal do Zacarias (shown below, left). The post amassed roughly 608,000 plays and 17,000 likes in a month.
On October 31st, TikTok[6] user @adriwest posted a POV meme as if gore content is being recorded by a staff member of the Portal do Zacarias website. The video (shown below, right) amassed over 199,000 plays and 35,000 likes in a month.
