About

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Sad Walk refers to a series of video remixes made to the introductory scene of the video game Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, in which Spider-Man is seen walking dejectedly while chaos happens around him. Parodies of the scene will substitute the game's soundtrack with unfitting music for humorous effect.

Origin

In the introduction scene of Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows, released in October of 2008, Spider-Man walks through a chaotic battle sequence uncaring and dejected. The scene was uploaded to YouTube on June 21st, 2012 by user DJayGaming (shown below).

On November 28th, 2019, YouTuber Death Taco posted a remix of the scene with a slowed-down version of Playboy Carti's "Long Time" as the soundtrack, gaining over 1.8 million views (shown below).

Spread

Death Taco's video was the first of many remixes that would appear on YouTube over the following several months. Other popular examples include a February 7th, 2020 video by Nahuoxus that used "Unravel" as the music, gaining over 857,000 views (shown below, left). On April 3rd, user ShroomAbuser uploaded a version using Guts' Theme, gaining over 20,000 views (shown below, right)
