Stay In the Box or No, Get Out Of My Skin is a viral video and audio clip of Twitch streamer Stable Ronaldo having a comedic argument with himself where he screams at himself twice to "stay in the box," arguing back, "no," then screams, "get out of my skin" while clawing at his neck. The clip is from a Fortnite stream hosted by Ronaldo in late November 2023 and went viral on TikTok throughout December as both an original sound and an image macro format.

Origin

On November 29th, 2023, Twitch^[1] streamer StableRonaldo hosted a Fortnite Stream titled "Im down officially 27 pounds." Around the 05:27:05 mark, Ronaldo has a fake argument with himself as he waits inside of a building or "box" he created to protect himself from other players. Bored and wanting to push out of the box, he argues with himself, "Stay in the box," "no," and ends the argument by screaming, "get out of my skin" and acting like he's tearing his skin off, as if trying to get a demon out of his body. On December 6th, TiKToker^[2] @fncliperton posted an edit of the clip that garnered over 3.7 million views in two weeks (shown below).

Spread

The clip gained viral spread on TikTok over the following weeks as it became the subject of memes and lip dubs as an original sound. On December 11th, 2023, TikToker^[3] @stronger_supergogeta posted an edit speeding and slowing the clip down, garnering over 330,000 views in a week. On the same day, TikToker^[4] @leon.leonleonleon posted the video, captioned, "long haired dudes fighting the voices telling them to get a buzzcut," garnering over 10 million views in a week (shown below).

The original sound for @leon.leonleonleon's video was used over 1,700 times in the next week, mostly in lip dub videos about fighting the urge to do something. The audio clip also inspired animations. For example, on December 12th, TikToker^[5] @rynnshii posted an animation that gained over 1.4 million views in six days (shown below, left). On December 13th, TikToker^[6] @axolotlll___ posted an lip dub using the sound that gained the same number of views in five days (shown below, right).

On December 17th, TikToker^[7] @_.k0rbi._ posted a video using the sound that gained over 200,000 views in a day (shown below).
