Steph Curry Sleeping, also known as Stephen Curry Sleep Celebration or Steph Curry Night Night, refers to a gesture made by U.S. basketball star Stephen Curry that went viral online during the 2024 Summer Paris Olympics. While Curry previously made the same sleeping gesture throughout the Warriors' run to the NBA championship in 2022, in early August 2024, he used it during the fourth-quarter win over France, which sparked memes and jokes on social media in the following days.

Stephen Curry's sleeping or "night night" gesture became the subject of jokes and memes on X and Reddit in early April 2022. For example, on April 28th, 2022, redditor Vetoi[2] uploaded an image of Steph's sleeping gesture (seen below) captioning it as "Curry puts the nuggets to sleep." The post amassed more than 474 likes and 13 comments in two days.

2024 Summer Olympics Final

On August 10th, 2024, the Team USA men's basketball team played against France in the final match of the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning its fifth straight gold medal at the Olympics and defeating France 98 to 87. Stephen Curry celebrated one of his points against France toward the end of the game as the U.S. team racked up a lead in the final moments with his classic "sleeping" gesture, essentially signaling that it was time for France's team to go to bed and that the game was over.

That same day shortly after the moment in the game aired, X[1] user @JoeVirayNBA posted the clip of Curry's celebration (shown below), which amassed over 273,000 views and 4,500 likes in two days.
