Absolute Batman is an alternate universe version of Batman that depicts Bruce Wayne as a poor civil engineer instead of a rich heir. The comics are narrated by Alfred Pennyworth, who is typically Bruce Wayne's butler, but in this series is shown to be an MI6 agent stalking Batman. The series is part of the Absolute Universe DC Comics imprint, written by Scott Snyder and illustrated by Nick Dragotta, where superheroes are depicted as underdogs in society. While this version of Batman is depicted as more muscular and menacing, the villains Absolute Batman fights have been described by fans as "Elden Ring bosses" and "Kaijus." Absolute Bane is depicted as towering above Absolute Batman, with the power to hypothetically tear off Batman's arms. Absolute Joker is another Absolute Batman villain that prompted much online discourse after he was revealed to be a meta-human, reptilian creature.
