On June 27th, 2023, Variety[1] magazine reported that the Among Us animated series, based on a hit 2018 indie game of the same name, was in the works at CBS Studios with Infinity Train creator Owen Dennis attached as the series creator and executive producer. The announcement tweet[2] garnered over 4,400 retweets and 26,000 likes in two hours (shown below).
Fandom
The initial announcement was met with memes and viral reactions online. For example, on June 27th, 2023, Twitter[2] user @UltimaShadowX posted a Jebaited copypasta that received over 420 retweets and 3,400 likes in two hours (shown below, left).
