About
HAWKED is the name given to a PvPvE extraction shooter released by the company MY.GAMES for the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X. The game, featuring co-op or solo play, features players finding loot and weapons to fight against NPCs and other players while trying to extract treasure from an island.
History
On November 22nd, 2022, the reveal trailer for the game was released on the official GameSpot[1] YouTube account. In the reveal trailer, the core concept of the game, revolving around the player being a treasure hunter trying to find treasure while fighting against NPCs and other players, is shown off (shown below).
On July 28th, 2023, the official GameSpot[2] YouTube channel released another trailer for the game, this time announcing the game's open beta period. In the newer trailer, gameplay footage is shown along with a more in-depth look at the core gameplay loop, showing the different PvE elements in the game such as traps, puzzles, and different types of enemies to fight, along with the goal of finding an artifact and leaving with it (shown below).
Online Presence
Following the game's open beta, different content creators started to play the game and create videos about their experiences. On August 6th, 2023 the TikToker Mo_tionGaming[3] uploaded his testing out of the various weapons the game has in their practice range, showing off what they do for viewers who were interested in the game and earning over 20,000 views in seven months (shown below, left). On August 17th, 2023, the Tiktoker imlanes[4] showed some of their gameplay and talked about their experience with the game after participating in the open beta, comparing it to Fortnite as a battle royale with a twist, and earning over 40,000 views in six months (shown below, right).

The game had it's official release on February 15th, 2024, where it came out for free on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. This opened up the game to new content creators and fans to play it and make content about it, with the TikToker TheGamingPastor[5] uploading a TikTok on February 16th, 2024, in which he talked about how to win in the game and his experience playing it (shown below).
