About

Hyrule Warriors[1] (Zelda Musō in Japan) is a action hack and slash video game by Nintendo and KOEI Tecno, combined with The Legend of Zelda series and the gameplay of Dynasty Warriors. It was released on September 26th, 2014, here in North America.

Origin

On December 18, 2013, Nintendo along with KOEI Tecno announce Hyrule Warriors in Nintendo Direct. Satoru Iwata, the president of Nintendo, stated that Hyrule Warriors would not be the next main series installment of The Legend of Zelda. Instead, Satoru Iwata stated it will be more of a spinoff, an alternate universe of The Legend of Zelda series.
