Overview
"Trump's Meat" Crypto Hack on Twitter and the Fake Donald Trump Naked Photo refers to when the Twitter / X account of U.S. President Donald Trump was hacked in February 2025 by cryptocurrency scammers and trolls who changed the address destination of a Bitly link in one of Trump's old tweets to link to a meme coin on Pump.fun called "Trump's Meat," which showed a fake naked photo of Trump getting a spray tan. During the incident, other coins were created by the hackers that were also changed via the Bitly and X bug. First Lady Melania Trump's X account was also affected by the bug and link hijacking. The hackers were likely banking on the success of Donald Trump's $TRUMP coin and Melania Trump's $MELANIA meme coin, which peaked weeks before. The hack and the fake naked photo of Donald Trump spread online in the following days, generating discourse and reactions en masse. The original photo of a naked Donald Trump was part of a spoof photoshoot by British photographer Alison Jackson, which was published in 2017.
Background
On February 3rd, 2025, an old tweet[1][2] from the official X account of U.S. President Donald Trump started spreading via retweets and quote tweets. The Bitly link for the tweet had been hacked and instead linked to a meme coin on Pump.fun called TRUMP'S MEAT (YUGE). The tweet was originally shared on April 15th, 2011. After the hack, the tweet rose from 166 likes to over 8,800 likes (censored screenshot shown below).
The naked photo of Trump is a fake photo from a spoof photo project called Private, which was created by British photographer Alison Jackson in 2017. The photos show a Donald Trump lookalike doing taboo activities in the Oval Office, including one in which he's getting spray-tanned in the nude.[4]
Also on February 3rd, another tweet[5][6] on Donald Trump's account, originally posted on April 9th, 2013, also had its Bitly linked compromised, linking to a different meme coin on Pump.fun called DONALD J. TRUMP (DJT). The tweet was first screenshotted on archive.is[6] on January 29th, 2025. Over six days, it received over 1,900 likes (shown below).
An old tweet[7] on Melania Trump's X account, originally posted on January 14th, 2013, was also tampered with (shown below).
