Scarlet Skips is an upcoming roguelike video game by developer and artist YerkDiff, also known as Yerk Games, where players must make a girl named Scarlet skip rope. The game purportedly uses only one button and has roguelike upgrades between rounds, the goal being to jump rope for as long as possible. The game was announced on April 20th, 2026, and became the subject of reactions, fan art and memes on social media.
Some poked fun at Scarlet Skips for being perceived as a "gooner bait game," with others criticizing its seemingly simple gameplay and design. Others defended the game, sharing the belief that good indie games are often based on simple premises.

Scarlet Skips Trailer
On April 20th, 2026, X[1] user @YerkDiff posted the trailer for his upcoming game Scarlet Skips, garnering over 79,000 likes, 3,700 reposts and 2.5 million views in two days. The trailer shows Scarlet, an anime-styled character with large breasts and a revealing top, leaving her dark room after crying to skip rope in the sunshine, offering a look at the gameplay. The trailer was also posted to YerkDiff's Instagram,[2] gaining over 30,000 likes in the same span of time.
Scarlet is a character that YerkDiff has been drawing and posting content related to throughout the 2020s on his Instagram[3] and X pages.
A Steam[4] wishlist page was also made available for Scarlet Skips, which features screenshots of the game, including a glimpse of the roguelike elements in the game.

Online Reactions
The trailer for Scarlet Skips went viral in late April 2026, inspiring reactions, fan art and memes as it spread on social media.
On April 20th, 2026, X[5] user @IndieGameJoe posted a portion of the trailer, explaining its gameplay elements, gaining over 11,000 likes in two days.
On April 21st, X[6] user @mimigacity quoted the post, writing, "I like how you can tell this was made by someone who really really wants to fuck daisy from mario," noting a resemblance between Scarlet and Princess Daisy, garnering over 97,000 likes in a day.
Later that day, X[7] user @ posted a defense for the game regarding criticisms of it being gooner bait, writing, "You can tell the people shitting on this don't know anything about being a game dev, because one of the very first tips professionals give you is to start as small and simple as possible, especially to Indies," garnering over 5,300 likes in a day.
Also on April 21st, 2026, X[8] user @CringePoop posted, "one of the worst aspects of flash dying is that games like these are on steam when they would probably do better as browser games. however the only type of browser game you're allowed to make any more is an online social experiment or Wordle," garnering over 25,000 likes in a day.
That night, Newgrounds[9] user Luzennon posted a piece of fan art of Scarlet from Scarlet Skips, gaining about four favorites and 40 views in a day. Later, X[10] user @esjesjesj posted, "Why is this the horniest game ever," in response to the trailer, gaining over 15,000 likes in a day.
Also on the night of April 21st, X[11] user @PostChelo posted a piece of fan art of Scarlet commissioned by the game's creator that gained over 4,100 likes in a day.
