The Bazaar is an upcoming auto battler deckbuilding strategy video game developed by Tempo Storm. Released in close beta in late October 2024 and planned for worldwide release in February 2025, the game drew attention from popular card streamers, achieving popularity on YouTube and Twitch.

History

On April 6th, 2018, American esports organization Tempo Storm, founded by former professional Hearthstone player and streamer Andrey "Reynad" Yanyuk, announced the development of The Bazaar a digital deckbuilding game.^[1]

On June 4th, 2024, the first trailer for the game premiered on YouTube,^[2] where it receiver over 151,000 views in six months (shown below).

On October 30th, 2024, The Bazaar entered a close beta period.^[3] The game is set to enter open beta in January 2024, followed by the worldwide release in February 2024.

Gameplay and Features

The Bazaar is an asynchronous auto battler deckbuilding strategy video game in which players face both computer and human opponents as they progress through a run. The game starts with the player picking one of several heroes, purchasing and selling items and upgrading their skills as their progress through their run. Each game is divided into days, with each day including several shop and event round, one battle against a PvE opponent, and one fight against a human opponent. The run ends after the player either manages to beat 10 human opponents, or loses their all their prestige after losing too many PvP fights.

The Bazaar is an asynchronous game, meaning that player fight "images" of opponents who played up to several hours earlier rather than face them in real time.

In late 2024, The Bazaar achieved popularity with a number of popular strategy games streamers, including Northernlion and Kripparian.

Video uploads of The Bazaar gameplay by Northernlion drew significant viewership on YouTube: for example, a past broadcast^[4] uploaded on November 30th, 2024, gained over 228,000 views in three weeks (shown below).

Use in Memes

On April 2nd, 2018, subreddit /r/PlayTheBazaar^[5] was established, accumulating over 27,000 followers in six years. During the beta period of the game, the subreddit became the main hub for various memes about the game (example shown below).
