'The Goblin Dance' by Sam Westphalen is an animated short by Sam Westphalen. It's gained a cult following amongst the Vinesauce community, as well as on the SiIvaGunner YouTube channel.

Origin

The original video was posted on July 15th, 2007 by Sam Westphalen. He created the video using Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Paint, and Windows Movie Maker along with original music he created beforehand. The video (shown below) has over 78,000 views.^[1]

The animation features three goblins dancing in a cave, which is soon discovered by an explorer. The explorer ventures further into the cave where the goblins quickly spot the explorer and chase after him. The animation wraps up with the explorer locked in the cage, and watching in horror as the goblins resume their dancing.

The video was remade several times by ricesnot on the SiIvaGunner YouTube channel.^[2][3][4][5]

On November 22nd, 2020, an animated emote called "goblinPls" (shown below)^[6] was created from ricesnot's "Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom" video.

The goblinPls emote has gained wide use on Vinny's Vinesauce Twitch streams (shown below), especially if the song "PAIN" from Cyberpunk 2077 plays.

On March 22nd, 2021, an animated 3D model of one of the goblins was posted to sketchfab by a_lott (shown below).^[7]

On October 25th, 2021, ricesnot posted another version of The Goblin Dance to the SiIvaGunner YouTube channel, but mixed with the Cyberpunk 2077 song "Pain" in reference to the combination's popularity on the Vinesauce channel.^[8]
