About
"Tell Me Something Else I Don't Know. Something Less… Disturbing." is a quote from the TV series The Penguins of Madagascar. It has been used as a template presenting a quirky and novel statement, in a similar manner to I Worry About You Sometimes Candace and Lisa Simpson's Presentation.
Origin
The quote originally comes from the 2008 TV series The Penguins of Madagascar, appearing in 16th episode of the first season (S01E16) titled "Popcorn Panic" which aired on May 9, 2009.[1][2]
In the scene in question (at 5:46 in the clip below), Kowalski (Jeff Bennett) explains to Skipper (Tom McGrath) where in the zoo they currently are, whereupon Skipper implies that he already knows that by responding the phrase “Tell Me Something I Don't Know”. Kowalski then shares a completely arbitrary fact about the human body's digestive system, resulting in Skipper asking to hear something less disturbing instead.
Kowalski: "According to this symbol, which appears to be Aztec in origin, you are here."
Skipper: "Tell me something I don't know."
Kowalski: "Without mucus, your stomach would digest itself."
Skipper: "Tell me something else I don't know. Something less… disturbing."
Spread
The meme format saw its first usage on October 28, 2018, over nine years after the episode aired. That day, the meme was used on several parts of the Internet, with the below examples from Reddit gaining 3,800 and 14,900 points respectively.[3][4]
