The Amazing Digital Circus is a 3D animated dark comedy series created by Gooseworx with production credits to Kevin and Luke Lerdwichagul. The premise follows Pomni, a girl trapped along with other characters in a cyberspace circus managed by a mysterious and powerful ring leader named Caine who crafted the world they are all stuck in. With little known about their own past outside the virtual realm and no way to escape the chaotic reality they find themselves in, all that the crew can do is try to avoid going insane. The series quickly developed a passionate fandom online.

History

On January 27th, 2023, Gooseworx posted a teaser for the series to her YouTube channel, gaining over 3.1 million views in eight months[1] (shown below).


On September 22nd, 2023, the official trailer for the show was uploaded to the GLITCH YouTube channel[2], receiving over 4 million views in 3 weeks (shown below, left). On October 13th, 2023, the show's pilot episode[3] debuted on YouTube, garnering 3.9 million views in two days, 15 million views in one week, 37 million views in two weeks, and over 100 million views in one month (shown below, right).

Online Presence

On January 28th, 2023, Gooseworx confirmed on Twitter that the lead character Ponmi is 25 years old.[4] This led to an outpouring of fan art, much of which was NSFW, surrounding Ponmi. This was parodied in a video by ProjectAnomaly and reposted to YouTube on February 2nd by user Spookzi, gaining over 339,000 views in eight months (shown below).

The series also inspired a meme and reactions ecosystem on YouTube. For example, on October 16th, YouTube account Vo Memes posted a YouTube Poop for the series' first episode, gaining over 46,000 views in a matter of hours (shown below, left). On October 15th, YouTuber not-so-average-fangirl posted a reaction to the pilot, gaining over 45,000 views in one day (shown below, right).
