You Parasite refers to a scene in the pilot episode of The Amazing Digital Circus in which the character Caine screams "You parasite!" at the character Bubble after it eats his angel food cake. Caine then pops Bubble. The scene became a meme on YouTube and TikTok, among other video platforms, in late 2023, trending as an animation meme.

Origin

On October 13th, 2023, the pilot episode of The Amazing Digital Circus was uploaded to the YouTube^[1] channel GLITCH, gaining over 150 million views in one month. At the episode's 6:21-minute mark, the character Caine starts to rapidly speak at Pomni, ending with "angel food cake." Then, the character Bubble eats the cake to which Caine screams "You parasite!" and pops Bubble (shown below).

Soon after, on October 13th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @rizzyjester posted the "You Parasite" clip, gaining roughly 1.1 million plays and 157,300 likes in one month. On October 14th, YouTuber^[3] Fyren Qpoy posted the clip, gaining roughly 400,700 views and 20,000 likes in one month.

Spread

On October 15th, 2023, various YouTubers posted variations and iterations of the scene. For instance, YouTuber^[4] JakeExternalz posted an iteration of the scene that gained roughly 537,200 views and 19,000 likes in a month (shown below, left).

Also on October 15th, 2023, YouTuber^[5] Shiiba Roll posted a Deltarune re-animation of the scene, gaining roughly 122,200 views and 9,100 likes in one month (shown below, right).

During the same timeframe, re-animations and variations of the scene also surfaced on TikTok. For instance, on October 18th, 2023, TikToker^[6] @mrplatinumeye posted a Roblox recreation, receiving roughly 438,500 plays and 31,400 likes in one month (shown below, left).

On October 21st, 2023, TikToker^[7] @readysetrose posted a lip dub of the scene in a cosplay of Caine, gaining over 137,000 likes in one month (shown below, right).
