About

The Anti Ad Advertising Club is a movement by art collective MSCHF aimed at sharing videos with ant-corporate original sounds on TikTok. Each original sound comes with a bounty as described on the Anit Ad Ad Club website, which is awarded to any user who gains a defined number of views on a video using the sound. The movement started on October 12th, 2020.

Origin

MSCHF is an anonymous art collective that operates through the internet. On May 25th, 2019, they partnered with artist Guo O Dong for their first "drop," which was an auction for a laptop containing 6 of the most dangerous pieces of malware of all time, totaling $95-billion in damage. This gained MSCHF a lot of media attention, with the piece, titled "The Persistence of Chaos" ultimately selling for 1.35-million.

On October 7th, 2020, MSCHF dropped nine original sounds on the antiadadclub TikTok page, each one containing lyrics denouncing a certain company. Companies being attacked in these sounds (from lowest bounty to highest) include TikTok ($10 for 5k+ views), Fashion Nova ($50 for 25k+ views), Amazon($100 for 50k+ views), NFL ($200 for 100k+ views), Tesla ($1k for 500k+ views), Comcast ($2k for 1-million+ views), Facebook ($4k for 2-million+ views), Purdue ($10k for 5-million+ views, awarded once), and Palantir (20k for 10-million+ views, awarded once). MSCHF didn't officially drop the Anti Ad Ad Club until October 12th.
