About

The Inevitable Heat Death of the Universe refers to a theorized incoming distant cataclysmic event that would result in the universe in a state of no free thermodynamic energy, or thermodynamic equilibrium, leading to the end of all activity in the universe. On the internet, it is used in ironic nihilistic references as an event where nothing in life matters, or as a way of sarcastically measuring time for actions that take a considerable amount to complete.
