About
This Barbie Takes X is a phrasal template and exploitable meme format that originated from a viral July 2023 tweet by Twitter user @gabby_frostin which read, "This Barbie Takes Zoloft" (an antidepressant drug). The phrase is inspired by the 2023 Barbie movie marketing catchphrase "This Barbie Is," which was turned into a meme in which the item "taken" is replaced by other things, typically antidepressants and medications related to mental health issues like anxiety, ADHD, etc.
Origin
On July 25th, 2023, Twitter user @gabby_frost[1] posted a collection of images featuring the phrases "This Barbie Takes Zolotf, Wellbutrin, Lexapro, Vyvanse" most of which are antidepressant medications.
