This is An Extreme Thirst is a quote said by Spongebob Squarepants, from a scene in which he picks a giant jug from his fridge. The screenshot of this scene has inspired many memes about figurative thirst, including object labeling memes and redraws.

Origin

Episode 19A of Spongebob Squarepants, Fools In April, premiered on April 1st, 2000. In its beginning, Spongebob starts playing various April Fool's pranks, one of which requires him to retrieve a comically large jug of lemonade from his refrigerator.

The earliest occurence of this scene online comes from a YouTube Poop^[1] posted on March 20th, 2010 by
theduckinabox. The first unedited occurence of that scene in an online video dates from April 1st, 2012^[2].

The first picture of this scene, including the screenshot that would later on be used as a template, come from a picture set posted on Tumblr^[3] on April 2nd, 2011.

Spread

The first usage of this scene in a memetic way comes from a 2014 Tumblr post by homestuckcharactergifs^[4], in which Homestuck character Cronus Ampora is associated to that quote, in reference to his excessive flirting behaviour.
The oldest redraw of that meme (see below) dates from at least June 18th, 2015, and features Steven Universe character Pearl, another "thirsty" individual.
