On September 16th, 2024, X^[1] user @SPACEGHOSTDERP posted a tier list they called the "Tropes in media tier list," gathering over 14,000 likes in two days. The tier list arranged seemingly random aspects of story writing into different tiers, with "protagonists," "philosophy," "themes" and "moral greyness" in the top tier, and "open endings" and "Post-Modernism" in the bottom tier.

On September 17th, 2024, X^[2] user @VLVTT_ quoted the post with an image of a man crying with the caption, "me reading a new book hoping there isn't any writing," gathering over 80,000 likes in a day.

On September 17th, X^[4] user @ethicalyaoifan made a post that read, "JUST AWOKE FROM A NIGHTMARE WHERE MY MEDIA HAD L THEMES… L PROTAGONISTS…. POSTMODERNISM… AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, AN OPEN ENDING!" The post gathered over 29,000 likes in a day.
