Truly Disgusting That Some People Would Do This Horrible Thing is a copypasta series based on the response a YouTube video by jschlattLIVE. The video, which focuses on hygienic practices, inspired a wave of comments that use the copypasta. This trend moved to Reddit shortly after in early February 2021.
Origin
On January 27th, 2021, YouTuber jschlattLIVE shared a video entitled "I am disgusted." In the video, Schlatt debates post defecation cleansing and whether people should act while standing or sitting. Within three weeks, the video received more than 2 million views (shown below).
Shortly after the video was posted, YouTuber ToaLegend responded, "Truly disgusting, that some people would do this horrible thing" (shown below).
Spread
Following the post, two YouTubers,[1] Luke Cowdell and iTMG, posted the copypasta and received more than 25,000 and 41,000 likes, respectively, in less than two weeks (shown below, left).
Throughout the day, viewers continued to post the copypasta in the comments of the video. Eventually, on January 27th, 2021, Schlatt tweeted[2] about the trend, writing, "WHAT IS GOING ON." The post received more than 107,000 likes and 1,700 retweets in less than three weeks (shown below, center).
The copypasta continued to be seen on Twitter,[3] where people wrote it in response to many posts, whether relevant or not (examples below, right).
Later that week, on February 3rd, jschlatt posted a response to the copypasta. The post received more than 2.2 million views in less than two weeks (shown below).
On February 4th, Redditor[5] RednaxNewo posted about the copypasta in the /r/OutOfTheLoop[5] subreddit. Redditor thedylll responded:

This one started off as an inside joke with jschlatt viewers – basically he uploaded a jokey clickbait "serious" video so everyone put the same moderately-disgusted generic response to confuse legitimately concerned viewers
On February 6th, in response to the copypasta's popularity, Redditor jschlitt posted a U Good? No variation in the /r/jschlatt[4] that references the response to the copypasta. The post received more than 3,600 points (100% upvoted) and 75 comments in less than two weeks (shown below).
