Twilightlicious is a phrase and hashtag (#Twilightlicious) that is used to refer to anything in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fandom as amazing or awesome. It was originally meant to refer to anything related to Twilight Sparkle^[1], but has developed into an overarching phrase.

Origin

On March 7, 2012, Tara Strong^[2], voice actress of Twilight Sparkle, posted a tweet^[6] acting as Twilight performing a short free-style rap, which included the phrase "Twilightlicious", similar to Fergie's^[4] "Fergalicious".

Two days later, she posted a "VocalTwit"^[3] of herself acting as Twilight again, singing the lyrics from the previous tweet^[7], as well as singing versions for some of her other past acting roles such as Raven of Teen Titans^[8], Bubbles of The Powerpuff Girls^[9], and Omi of Xiaolin Showdown^[10].

Spread

The phrase quickly caught on, as well as the recording as a whole, and began to be included in YouTube videos^[12] and as a hashtag in MLP-related tweets^[11].

Sound Cloud^[5] has also had a high volume of remixes that use the audio clip.
Three days after the original tweet, the domain name twilightliciou.us^[13] was registered^[14]. The website hosts a YTMND-like pairing of animation and music, featuring Twilight dancing to music from a YouTube video. The viewer can choose a different video for the music and manually adjust the BPM of the animation to match it, and the site provides a link to the modified version^[13].
