Virgínia Fonseca Dançando or Virgínia Fonseca Dancing refers to multiple viral videos and a subsequent trend using them to mock Brazilian influencer Virgínia Fonseca's various dance trends on TikTok, which emerged in late 2023. The influencer is known in Brazil for posting dance challenges to promote her husband's music, which are often considered bad or unoriginal songs by many critics online. After she released a new dance trend in early December 2023, users started to post memes, parodies and photoshopped edits of the influencer doing the dance moves, particularly on TikTok.

Origin

On November 28th, 2023, Brazilian singer Zé Felipe, Virgínia Fonseca's husband, released three new music videos for his new EP project. One of the new releases, the song^[1] "Voltei Pra Cachorrada" (shown below), amassed over 2.3 million views and 88,000 likes in three days.

To help promote her husband's music, Fonseca then uploaded an Instagram Story shortly after in which she performed a dance trend for the "Voltei Pra Cachorrada" track. Her robotic dance moves caught the attention of viewers, instigating an online debate about her choreography. The video (since deleted) was reposted by the gossip Instagram page @gossipdodia,^[2] which amassed more than 69,000 likes and 6,400 comments in three days (reupload seen below).

The Brazilian influencer's robotic dance moves became the subject of jokes and ironic memes on social media in the following days. For example, on November 30th, 2023, TikTok^[3] user @mejanar posted a compilation of Fonseca's dance videos paired with the overlay text saying, "It is impossible not to laugh at Virgínia dancing Zé Felipe's music." The video (shown below, left) amassed more than 1.4 million plays and 205,000 likes in three days.

On December 1st, TikTok^[4] user @multiediton edited one of her dance videos on top of a political flash mob video (shown below, right), which garnered roughly 115,000 plays and 13,000 likes in a day.
