Walter Clements refers to a series of jokes about a screenshot of a YouTube comment in which a user named Walter Clements writes "I like fire trucks and moster trucks" and replies to the comment saying "Walter." Shitposts about the comment spread on Reddit in Autumn of 2018.
Origin
On January 19th, 2016, Tumblr user comment-tube[2] posted the screenshot to their page, gaining over 24,000 notes (shown below).
Spread
On October 16th, 2018, Redditor Dantadow[1] posted the screenshot of Walter Clements' comment on /r/youngpeopleyoutube, gaining over 2,300 points. The joke spread mostly on /r/okbuddyretard, where multiple posts referencing the screenshot gained thousands of points, including a post by cooper_spaghettilove that gained over 8,200 points (shown below, left). Another post by Easy5MinDinner gained over 1,100 points (shown below, right).
Other popular posts on the subreddit include a parody posted by fuqq_master that gained 140 points (shown below, left), another by PM_ME_YOUR_HARIBO gained over 50 points (shown below, right).
