Walton Goggins Shocked Reaction or Rick Hatchett Confused Reaction is a reaction image based on a scene from The White Lotus season three, episode five, in which Rick Hatchett, played by Walton Goggins, reacts with shock as Frank tells him about his post-sex-addiction spiritual journey into Buddhism and his desire to become a "ladyboy" in Thailand. Goggins' reaction became the subject of memes following the episode's premiere, which use the expression to portray similar feelings of shock or confusion.

On March 16th, 2025, The White Lotus season three, episode five was released. In the episode, Rick Hatchett reunites with his old friend, Frank. While eating dinner, Frank tells him what he's been up to, explaining that he visited Thailand and decided he wanted to be a "ladyboy," going into detail about several encounters he had with men in which he pretended to be an Asian woman. He ends the story by claiming he has discovered Buddhism.



That night, social media users began using images of Goggins' reactions during the scene to portray shock and confusion. One of the earliest known examples of this was posted by X[1] user @coneyisland131 that night, sharing two images and writing, "everyones face watching the white lotus tonight," garnering over 6,200 likes in two days.

The memes continued to spread over the next few days. On March 16th, 2025, X[2] user @KelseyStauffer posted an image of Goggins, writing, "He couldn’t believe what he was hearing but stayed supportive. Find yourself a friend like Rick," garnering over 27,000 likes in two days.
