"Why Are You Eating Ice Cream?" refers to a webcomic featuring the characters Umbrella and Parasoul from the video game Skullgirls. The comic inspired several parodies and became an exploitable.
Origin
The original comic was created by the artist kata-009,[1] and first submitted to their Tumblr account on November 20th, 2013.[2] In the comic, Umbrella is asked by her big sister Parasoul why she eats ice cream everyday; she replies that she eats ice cream when she is having a bad day. In the following two years, the post got over 28,000 notes.

Since its creation, the comic has been used as reaction image on several online communities, including the /tg/ board of 4chan[3], several My Little Pony boards,[4] and FunnyJunk.[5] The image is used mainly as a reaction image to express sadness. The image also inspired several parodies and remakes with other franchises, including the aforementioned My Little Pony and Neko Atsume. On January 3rd, 2014, YouTuber Driasaur uploaded a voiced version of the comic, gaining over 8,600 views in the following two years.
