Why You In My Face Girl Your Breath Stank refers to a humorous rap song in which a girl insults another about her poor breath for several lines. The track has been circulating regularly on TikTok since 2018.

Origin

It's unclear where the sound originates from. The earliest known recording of the track was posted to YouTube^[1] by MlpHeart Lover on November 3rd, 2018. The video, which gained over 165,000 views in five years, is a repost of a TikTok by @slayqueenb_squad, whose account has been deleted.

Spread

On July 11th, 2020, YouTuber Chichi uploaded an animation for the song making it seem like the rap was a series of insults sent over text message. The clip gained over 116,000 likes in three years (shown below).

The clip continued to appear in various TikToks and YouTube shorts over the following years, seeing a spike in popularity following an October 12th, 2022 post by @the_mannii^[2] that compared the song to a Doja Cat song (shown below). The clip gained over 367,000 likes in one year.

The audio gained significant interest after the release of the Doja Cat song "Demons" on September 1st, 2023, as both the audio and the song reference the What Are Those? meme. On September 17th, user @lanadelreylover064 made a direct comparison between the two songs, gaining over 270 likes in one month (shown below).
