You Made Your Own Lunch refers to a series of JIF peanut butter commercial TikTok parodies in which the child character packs their own lunch and then leaves a packed lunch for their mother.

Origin

On April 21st, 2010 the JIF Peanut Butter commercial was uploaded by TheSuss33 to YouTube (shown below).

On February 11th, 2019, TikTok user @freeheroin uploaded the first parody to TikTok in which he packed a gun for lunch (shown below). The video gained over 54,100 likes and 3,100 shares in two months.

Spread

The original sound uploaded by @freeheroin entitled "YEET YEET YEET" was used in over 48,000 videos in two months. On March 27th, TikTok user @gretchfgretch uploaded the most popular TikTok parody (shown below, left). The video gained over 603,100 likes and 31,600 shares in a month. On March 29th, TikTok user @iamjordanofficial also shared a popular parody which accumulated over 566,000 likes and 9,100 shares in a month (shown below, center). Two days later, @persxan uploaded a parody involving presumably his own mother (shown below, right). The video garnered 51,600 likes and 1,400 shares in a month.

On April 13th, 2019, Red Wasp uploaded the first You Made Your Own Lunch Tik Tok compilation (shown below). The video gained over 800 views in three weeks.
