About

Zydrate Anatomy is a song and scene from the 2008 film Repo! The Genetic Opera. The song's popularity has led to several fan animations that attempt to recreate the scene from the film.

Origin

The scene comes from the film Repo! The Genetic Opera, which first released in July 2008 at the Fantasia Film Festival, and in the rest of the United States on November 7th, 2008.[1] In the scene, a man known only as "Graverobber" deals secondhand Zydrate, which is a powerful painkiller that is extracted from corpses, to various surgery addicts in the area. He then goes on to sing about how Zydrate is administered, and about surgery addict Amber Sweet who frequently visits the Graverobber for more Zydrate. The scene was reuploaded to YouTube by Movies After Midnight on September 18th, 2009, where it received over 1.2 million views in fifteen years.
