Romanian news outlet Libertatea reported this afternoon that local authorities were carrying out an armed raid of the home of controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan.

The raid, conducted by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) in Bucharest, is believed to be in connection to a case involving the abduction of two girls in April. At that time, a woman called the police saying she was being held at Tate's villa against her will. Tate was then brought into DIICOT for questioning but was released, and later brushed the incident off as a swatting incident.

However, this afternoon's raid appears to be a continuation of the investigation into Tate started in April. Libertatea reports that judicial sources told them today's raid is part of an investigation that suspects the Tates of running a criminal organization that uses women for adult webcam shows.

Another source has stated that a former policewoman had her home raided today as well and is also part of the investigation into the Tate brothers. DIICOT officials are investigating the Tate brothers' cars, speculating that they may be confiscated.

Tate notably filmed himself in his home yesterday puffing a cigar and continuing his feud with Greta Thunberg that's made waves online in recent days.
