Argument Over Boba Fett's Ship Name 'Slave 1' Sees Resurgence As 'Book of Boba Fett' Captions Label It 'Firespray'

The debate amongst Star Wars fans about Boba Fett's iconic ship name was reignited as the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett featured the return of the gunship, which the captions now call "Firespray." The debate comes from Disney pushing for the ship's name to be changed from the previous name, "Slave 1," despite multiple instances of the name being used throughout the decades without issue.

Though there were plenty of people still very passionate about the ship name change, a number of fans were also happy with the swap, either citing that they didn't like the original one to begin with or that the new one just sounds better. Indeed for newer fans getting into the series, it requires less lore-diving to understand the context behind the ship's name, which can be seen as either good or bad depending on the fan.

At the same time, it seems that many fans are of the same opinion: It doesn't really matter what the ship is called, as long as it keeps making cool sounds and looking cool when it does things.
