Libertarian political cartoonist Ben Garrison, the former 4chan raid target who routinely goes viral on social media for his easily-parodied comics that often feature an unrealistically hunky Donald Trump, confirmed to Gizmodo that he and his wife are suffering from COVID-19.

"Yes, it’s definitely Covid and we’ve had all the symptoms," he said. "My wife and [I] went out with a couple to a restaurant and the next day all four of us were sick. One of us went to see a doctor and was told she had Covid, and that was the clincher."

Garrison resides in Montana, which is currently seeing 900 new Covid cases per day.

Garrison, who is outspokenly unvaccinated, detailed his treatment plan for the illness, which includes vitamins, Zinc, beetroot juice, and, unsurprisingly, the antiparasitic drug Ivermectin, which has not been proven to be an effective treatment of COVID-19 but has taken off amongst the anti-vaccination crowd in America, despite its reputation as a drug for livestock.

Garrison reported that he and his wife Tina had lost their senses of taste and smell. Garrison also said he had lost 15 pounds during his two weeks with the illness. When asked if his illness had changed his mind about vaccines, Garrison remained steadfast.

"We will never take their foul spike protein-producing jabs, which are neither safe nor effective. They’re not real vaccines. They’re gene therapy," he wrote.

He also repeated several disproven conspiracy theories about the vaccine, claiming that the Pfizer CEO hasn't gotten vaccinated for fear of the vaccine's side effects (he has) nor has Bill Gates (he also has).

Considering the recent trend of outspoken anti-vaxxers in the media dying from COVID-19, the news of Garrison's illness generated a mixed reaction fearing the worst and knowing the worst could have been avoided on social media.
