4chan post on Justin Mohn from July 2023.

Justin Mohn, the Pennsylvania man who became a national headline today after allegedly beheading his father and displaying the head in a grisly YouTube video, may have been previously known to the FBI — if a post on 4chan is to be believed.

Prior to yesterday's murder, Mohn potentially had a history of displaying megalomaniacal thoughts and violent behavior, as documented in a 4chan post from July last year. An anon, painting Mohn as "cringe" akin to a typical lolcow, documented a lawsuit Mohn filed against his employer, Progressive Auto Insurance.

According to the post, Mohn was unhappy that some female coworkers were promoted before him and claimed he was "overqualified" and "overeducated" for the customer service job he held. He demanded to be placed "in a more fitting position" on the threat of "using his publishing power" to reveal "Progressive’s violations of its core values as well as civil rights or labor law violations." Eventually, he kicked in a door, leading to his termination from the company.

The 4chan user then followed up with more alleged information about Mohn, delving into his attempts to get into political writing, as well as a music career. The user claims Mohn self-published a pamphlet titled "America's Coming Bloody Revolution," which appeared to tie his dissatisfaction with his job into a treatise on a "revolution" about to hit America.

The same user also linked to another lawsuit Mohn had filed against the Department of Education for "negligently and fraudulently [inducing] him to borrow money to pay for his education without sufficiently warning him of the possibility that he would face a difficult job market and could be unable to pay back his loan." The same lawsuit claimed that as a white male, he was suffering from affirmative action policies. The lawsuit was dismissed.

Lastly, they track Mohn's Reddit history, where he appeared to be attempting to recruit users to his "one-man militia" on firearm subs. They also found posts of Mohn attempting to do this in Discord groups dedicated to firearms and getting banned.

They conclude by saying they had reported Mohn to the FBI "just in case," though Know Your Meme cannot verify that information.

Mohn was arrested early this morning for allegedly beheading his father. In the 14-minute video that displayed the results of his crime, Mohn espoused several conservative conspiracy theories related to issues like the "woke mob" and "Black Lives Matter."
