The man behind legendary internet phenomenon and viral debate known as "The Dress" has been accused of domestic abuse and attempted murder and faces trial after appearing in the Glasgow High Court, according to a report from The Daily Mail.

Keir Johnston and Grace Johnston got married in 2015, and the mother of the bride wore the dress that broke the internet to their wedding. A guest of the wedding then posted the dress to Tumblr in February of that year, kicking off a seminal moment in internet history.

Johnston is now accused of allegedly abusing his wife for 11 years, in addition to reportedly threatening his wife with a knife and attempting to strangle her, shouting at her, pushing her against a wall and putting her in a headlock when she attempted to flee him on separate occasions between 2019 and 2022.

Johnston denies all charges and the case will be taken to court in 2024.

The Johnstons notably appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show in 2015 at the height of the dress' viral fame. There, Ellen revealed the actual colors of the dress were black and blue and gifted the couple a $10,000 trip to Grenada.
