SCP Foundation has received a much-needed spotlight from Markiplier ahead of its upcoming legal battle against Russian entrepreneur Andrey Duksin, who threatens the creative wiki. After Markiplier urged his viewers to donate to the SCP's legal fund and contributed a substantial amoung himself, the emergency fund created to protect the wiki from Duksin's unlawful claims grew more than double in size.

In his recent video, Markiplier, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, talked about the dangerous legal situation which burdened the SCP Foundation for months. In May 2019, Russian SCP Foundation branch raised concerns about Russian entrepreneur Andrey Duskin, who unlawfully claimed ownership of the SCP Foundation trademark in the Eurasian Customs Union countries (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia) and had been using it to get rid of competition selling the SCP merchandise in the country.

In May 2019 Duksin promised to willingly give up the trademark after his actions were dragged into the spotlight, but that promise did not last. In November 2019 he backed off on his promise and resumed forcing competitors out, going as far as contacting the Russia's most popular social network VK to bring down the largest and oldest SCP community on the platform.

Highly concerned about Duksin's actions, the global SCP Foundation announced that legal action will be taken against the entrepreneur to protect the wiki, which licensed and protected under Creative Commons. Seeking to fund the upcoming battle, the SCP Foundation launched an emergency fund, asking its readers for donations, and gathering over $60,000 in two months. Now, with Markiplier's help, that amount more than doubled.

Legal battles cost money, unfortunately. If you love the SCP Foundation, if you love the SCP games, Containment Breach, the Unity remake, the various other remakes, please consider making a donation to help fight his fight.

In addition to bringing his viewers up to speed on the situation and urging them to donate, Markiplier, who has tens of hours of SCP gameplay across various SCP Foundation video games on his channel, personally donated $5,000.

He also talked about the recent SCP Pixel Art Collab which saw artists creating stylish pixel art illustrations for over 200 SCP objects.

You can donate to help the SCP Foundation here.
