Swedish YouTuber Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg has announced that he will be taking a break from YouTube in early 2020.
In his latest episode of Pew News, in which he addressed recent YouTube policy changes and the removal of a notorious Content Cop episode, PewDiePie revealed that he would be taking a break from posting videos on the platform in early 2020, stating he just feels "very tired."
I am taking a break from YouTube next year. I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind, I'm tired. I'm feeling very tired. I dunno if you can tell. Just so you know, early next year I'll be away for a little while. I'll explain it later, but I wanted to give a heads up.
PewDiePie has not yet provided additional details on when the break will start or how much time he will be spending off YouTube but promised to expand on that in the future.
Two days later after his announcement, PewDiePie tweeted a screenshot showing several news headlines which misinterpreted his words and stated that he was quitting the YouTube rather than taking a break.
In this year's installment of YouTube Rewind PewDiePie was ranked the most viewed creator of the year, totaling over four billion views in 2019. Earlier in 2019, the Swedish YouTuber became the first individual creator to reach 100 million subscribers mark after his prolonged subscriber competition with the Indian company T-Series.
