Politician Attends Zoom Meeting On Distracted Driving While Driving
Politicians brazenly shirking rules is hardly an uncommon occurrence, but few have done it as ineptly and hilariously as Ohio State Senator Andrew Brenner, who recently attended, while driving, a Zoom meeting about a new bill that would impose harsher penalties on distracted driving.
While this could be seen as Brenner making a show out of his opposition to the bill, it appears to be more a case of incredible irony, made all the more incredible by Brenner attempting to hide the fact he was driving by making his Zoom background a picture of his home office. This led to the hilarious visual of Brenner wearing a seatbelt and checking both directions while apparently sitting in his office.
This Ohio State Senator thought he was slick, using a Zoom background of his home office while driving… debating a bill for harsher penalties for distracted driving https://t.co/XfangsLaHX pic.twitter.com/r55ti7bsma

Adding to the ridiculousness is the fact that Brenner continued to fidget with his phone throughout the call, very clearly driving distractedly in an effort to hide the fact he was doing just that.
As the gaffe began spreading on Twitter, users couldn't help but share in a collective facepalm.
The fucking green screen background like he doesn’t have a SEATBELT on https://t.co/OCW86yFnCB

Whom among us has never worn a seat belt while sitting in our living rooms? https://t.co/cdSCjS9kwt
