So why is there gachimuchi, a genre of adult movies where muscular guys wrestle in a pornographic manner, being broadcast during prime-time in Russia, you may ask?

Back in May, a petition to replace the statue of an 18th-century Russian empress in Odessa, Ukraine, with late gachimuchi star Billy Herrington went up. After the petition reached 25,000 signatures, it had to get an official response, so on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky replied to it. Zelensky transferred the decision authority to the Odessa City Council, mentioning the importance of "cleaning public space from objects and monuments related to the Russian imperial and Soviet heritage" in his letter.

Now, the prospect of a statue to a gay porn star going up in a country Russia is invading is not the type of news Russian state TV could just abstain from covering. As a result, channel viewers got to enjoy a good minute of ♂gachimuchi♂ on state TV.

The President of Ukraine has reviewed the 25,000-signature petition to demolish the monument to Catherine the Great in Odessa. The petition suggests the monument gets replaced with a statue of gay porn star Billy Herrington.

The clips were shown live during an episode of the "60 Minutes" talk show on the Russia 1 state channel. This somewhat contradicts Russia's own "Gay Propaganda" law as the show is not marked with the 18+ disclaimer and actually goes up during prime time at 6:30 p.m.
